Adblock Browser Goes Mobile

image

Here is a great news for all you busy cyber little mobile bees, who can stand to be constantly bombarded by the endless annoying ads. The famous Adblock Browser app has decided to go mobile. Both Android and IOS users are going to appreciate this decision so much.

How efficient this app is going to be in the mobile environment? Well, this is a tough question to answer to. Apparently, Adblock Browser offers much more with its mobile edition. For example, there is a solid promise that your battery’s life is going to be improved. Seriously?

What is the connection between ads and a smartphone’s battery? Adblock Browser should do, what is does the best. Fight the ads. This may seem as only the one and insufficient thing to offer to spoiled and demanding smartphone users, but mark our words, it is more than enough.

We can only wish for the favorable mobile winds and rewarding profit sea for this popular app. Yet, the mobile money can make apps do funny things. We sure hope our Adblock Browser is not going to be among them. Otherwise, this is going to become one more sad mobile story.

125 Billion Reasons

image

Here are some mind blowing data about the brave new future of mobile transactions. In no more than two years from now, you can expect a turnover of more than $125 billion on a yearly level. In other words, mobile payments and transactions are going to explode by the end of 2018.

Yes, cyber boys and girls, our precious money has become mobile, and there is nothing we can do about it. Our precious shiny gadgets are going to rain money for all kinds of service providers and product distributors. Everything and anything related to mobile sphere has a fantastic lucrative potential.

However, it would be tragically wrong to hope and expect that hackers are going to miss or sleep over this tremendous change. You can rest assured that they are already working hard on the next generation of malicious mobile solutions. This is a gold rush for them as much as it is for us.

Which brings us to the third participant of our story. If you are working or plan to work in the cyber security industry, then this is the right moment for you yo become a true cyber-star. Oh dear, there will be plenty of work for the cyber security busy little bees. Probably more they can handle.

The Stagefright Detector App

The busy little bees, who discovered one of the most serious Android vulnerabilities, have done nicely their cyber-security homework. If you have a Nexus, then you do not have to use this app. You will know, when you are in the Stagefright trouble. But, what about the others?

Well, this app comes to the rescue. If you are aware about the problem on your Android smartphone, then you are almost half cured, so to speak. However, there is a catch, you should be fully aware about. Can you guess what it could possibly be?

Unfortunately, this app does what its name says it does, no more, no less. This is a detector, not a fixer of the problem it so successfully detects. That is why, we are extremely worried. Quite a few people are going to be disappointed or even angry. With no justifiable cause, of course.

Detection is the first, but definitely not the only step, on your road of cyber recovery. We should be grateful for this essential feature of this app, rather than to complain, why it does not fix what it detects at the moment. Our hats off to this app, the rest is up to you, as always.

How about regular mobile security updates on a monthly basis? Does this sound like a good plan for Samsung users? On the other hand, we just cannot help ourselves wondering, what made Samsung to turn the security “tide”, in this field, all of a sudden?

Well, from what we have heard, Google has initiated this security avalanche. How? For what is worth, Google wants to ensure the top security of its Nexus users. Regular security updates will become a common thing for them, regardless of current Nexus model or version they are using.

Samsung obviously thinks that this is a good idea. After all, they live in the same Android neighborhood, don’t they? If we are going to get regular and periodical security updates, then we are sure that someone is going to take care about our cyber-safety. Right?

Our hats are off to Samsung for this win-win strategy. It comes without saying that users are going to appreciate and award it accordingly. We just cannot wait to get the first available updates in this field. Keep up with the good work Samsung, and Android will remain to be the primary number one mobile choice.

The busy little bees in Zimperium have been particularly occupied these days. Their findings are extremely disturbing. For what is worth, Android is in a serious trouble. We just could not believe how much damage you can cause with a single SMS, or an MMS to be more precise.

So, what is going on under the Android sun? Well, it seems that you only need a phone number, in order to proceed with your vicious plans. As soon as you send this dangerous message, you are in the control of an infected device. That is only the beginning.

You have an option to destroy this message almost immediately. In this way, you victim will not have a clue what is going on with his or her smartphone. So, what is the plan of these brilliant Zimperium guys? Well, Google has been warned. They are on the move.

It is also worth mentioning that Zimperium has provided a detailed description of the problem, including a solution for it. Google is silent on this one. Google is embarrassed about it. The SMS menace is out there. What can we do about it? Google, do not keep us waiting.

Samsung Pay Doesn’t Like The Rooted Play

Samsung Pay was introduced almost hand-in-hand with its latest flagships Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. However, the latest announcement has it that Samsung is not going to allow you to use this mobile payment service, if you are planning to run it on the so-called rooted devices.

Why? Is that a fair thing to do? Well, from the Samsung’s point of view, it certainly is. If you want to succeed in the cyber world, you just have to follow the money flow, as simple and as complicated as that. All eyes, ears, and especially fingers are on the mobile money.

Apple Pay is already fully operational. Google wants to improve its Wallet service even further. And, the list goes on and on. Every major IT players nowadays has its own mobile payment service. It is not a matter of prestige, but the basic business survival, under the new circumstances.

That is why, Samsung simply cannot afford itself a luxury of compromising its golden goose called Samsung Pay. What you are going to do with your rooted phone is your own thing, but you can forget about payment operations with it. Fair or not fair, Samsung has made up its mind in this situation.

iPhone 6 vs AK-74

0703_imela_7

How many iPhones you need to stop a bullet fired from an AK-74? Well, according to the crazy and creative guys from a YouTube channel, who enjoy themselves in destroying the top smartphones, you need at least five models. If you have a soft heart for smartphones, then you should not read this post.

Believe it or not, these guys put a dozen iPhones in a line. Then, with no mercy at all, they shot through them with an AK-74. The fifth smartphone was able to stop the bullet. So, what’s is the moral of this merciless and heartless experiment? If you are going to a dangerous zone, make sure you have five iPhones with you.

Or maybe, there is one more not so obvious moral discretely attached to this story. We’re so in love with our smartphones that we tend to assign them all kinds of super-powers and special features. In most of the cases, we are easily caught in the endless loop of exaggerations.

We sure hope that these heartless brainiacs have had more than enough of fun. We don’t need any more of these heartbreaking “experiments”, do we? Who knows what more can cross their “creative” minds? Please, don’t suggest them anything crazy and painful for our dear cyber-pets. Please.

Jailbreak iOS 8.4 Is Ready

image

The notorious, but extremely respectful TaiG hacker group, which specializes for the iOS jailbreak thing, was able to deliver its “solution” for the newest iOS 8.4, only a few hours after its official release. So, how are we supposed to feel about this news? We definitely not support these kinds of activities.

However, we also cannot neglect a simple fact. This group has a certain level of “hacker’s ethics”, if you accept that there is such a thing in the cyber-underground. So far, this group has not compromised its “good” name in the hacker community. Yet, they are helpless, when it comes to “repacking”.

Other hacker groups often “borrow” jailbreaks delivered by the cyber boys and girls from TaiG, but with an “addition” of a malicious nature, such as malware or a virus. Apple on the other side wants to assure us that the jailbreak trouble will not be possible with the iOS 9.

And, here we are, at the crossroads of numerous and potentially hazardous jailbreaks. What you are going to do with your iPhone? Well, it all comes down to your personal choices and even more personal consequences, you have to face with or without the TaiG hacker group.

For Our Korean Eyes Only

Not so long ago, the fingerprint scan technology for the top smartphones was a matter of true prestige and the absolute security imperative. Nowadays, we have become spoiled and extremely picky users, who are hungry like the mobile wolves, when it comes to new shiny things.

Bigger-better-stronger, and by default more expensive has become the dominant imperative in the latest mobile development. So, how about an eye-scanner for your smartphone? Would you like to use some of this James Bond technology for your cyber-mobile-pet? Samsung and LG are up to the taks.

We have no doubts that this new rocket science technology is going to be a safe one. But, we have some second thoughts, when it comes to its efficiency and reliability. Are we going to be obliged to do this eye-scanning thing each time we want to use our smartphone? How quick it would be?

Just when you thought that the evil-cyber-empire has had enough of our private data, there is bad news, such as this one, to prove you all wrong. What was that old saying about eyes and windows? Maybe, some windows and doors are the best as they are right now. Closed.

Cyberphone The New BlackPhone

image

Since the beginning of the smartphone time, we have dreamed about the magical model, which will be a synonym for the uncompromising safety and bulletproof privacy. This is how, we have ended up one fine day with a thing called the BlackPhone under our pillow. Yet, that was not enough.

The main purpose of this dark-knight-smartphone was to encrypt all of your mobile data. Protection of your privacy was its primary and only purpose. However, we still could not find a solution for the secure mobile transactions. This is the reason, the Cyberphone is introduced.

This is the early part of the smartphone day, that is why, we cannot tell you a lot. This smartphone, which comes with a straightforward name Cyberphone, walks in the mysterious mobile ways, as it should be. Nevertheless, this does not solve all of our problems. We need a double-bubble solution.

What if the Cyberphone and the Blackphone can have kids? Smart kids, if possible. This way, we will be able to kill two most troubling cyber-threats with just one smart-stone-phone. Protecting privacy, while ensuring safe mobile transactions. It really sounds like a dream, doesn’t it?
